Rough Morning

It was only yesterday that I was bragging about how my car always starts in bad weather. I wanted Paul to have the car today due to the terrible cold. Guess what? It didn't start!!! We have AAA but couldn't get anyone here. Finally Tom was nice enough to come and give us a boost only to find out that the booster cables didn't work and we needed gas line antifreeze. Guess what? It still didn't start. It's days like today that I really hate only having one car. I know I should be grateful, and I'm trying. But it's hard enough with one car, never mind NO car.

Christmas Cookies

Well, it's been so cold that we have pretty much been staying in, which can be challenging for an active two year old. So, we decided to make Christmas cookies last night. Unfortunately, you can't tell the difference between my cookies and Will's hahaha

School's in Session

While I was doing some baking tonite, Will was happily playing with his toys, singing and reading his books. The tv was off and I had some music playing. At one point I heard him say, "okay Elmo, there go". I look behind me and this is what I saw. He had his two Elmo's seated at the table and he was proceeding to give one a toy to play with and one his food fridge magnet for "lunch". It was just too cute.

Quality Control

I was doing some Christmas baking tonite and Will was my tester. Ummm, I think he liked it!!!

What's Wrong With This Picture?

If you take a good look at this picture, you'll notice that there are strange markings around my TV.

Well, the other night I had some music on louder than usual because I was rehearsing. I am part of a band called J40. It stands for Jeff's 40th Birthday party. We're doing it for fun for his birthday in Jan. (killer band I might add) Anyway, I was rehearsing and Will was playing, or so I thought. The funny thing is, he would start laughing and I'd ask him if he was having fun, not noticing what he was actually doing. It wasn't until Paul and I went to shut off the TV and GO TO BED that we actually noticed that Will had taken his chalk and colored the TV....and the floor, and the bookshelf. Seriously, we must have been totally out of it. Good thing it wasn't marker eh?

Will's Scrapbook

I decided this week that I needed to catch up on my scrapbooking. I managed to finish Will's first book which is up until Christmas O7. I'm now starting his new book from Jan to now of 2008. Yes, I have alot of scrapbooking to do still to catch up. But I re-organized everything in a tower drawer thingy on wheels and leave it down stairs now. Very exciting. ANYWAYS.....this morning I decided to scrapbook with Will. I figured he would enjoy it, and enjoy it he did. We literally scrapbooked for an hour and a half and he LOVED it! I let him make his own page and use the glue stick and everything :o) What you see is totally his work, mommy didn't help at all! I thought it would be great to start his own scrapbook, and just keep adding all the pages he does as he gets older. But, for now, it will go in it's rightful place earned on the fridge. We had a really wonderful time together.

As you can see from picture number 4, he was very proud of his work and even held it up over his head. Way to go honey, you did so good.

Little Drummer Boy

While I was making supper last night, Will was busy making music. I came around the corner to see what he was doing and he managed to get in his toy box, empty his drum that is usually filled with toys, put the lid back on, grab his drum stick and hang the drum around his neck. He's never done this before and I'm not sure how he'd know to do this, but he did. Mommy tried to sing to help him out, but seriously who can remember all the words to Christmas Carols!!!

Paul and Will in Action

We took these pictures for Paul's Biggest Loser Challenge, but I thought i'd put them on the blog too. It doesn't matter what Paul ends up doing, if he's on the floor, Will feels the need to jump on top of him. So last night when Paul was doing his push ups, Will decided he should help. Now remember Will probably weighs close to 35 pounds now! Yeah Daddy, he's such a good sport. The best part is the look on both Paul and Will's face, they're the same!!! Too funny.

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

William got new boots. That's it! But apparently, it's exciting enough for him to put them on before bed and dance around. AND....not want to take them off.

My Favorite Toy

More often than not, I am finding my little man IN the toy box playing. He is so funny, he even gets a blanket for himself to sit on so he's more comfortable. The kid kills me. He's happy to play like this for at least a half hour. He thinks he's quite funny too.

New Floor

Thanks to Joe and Paul for my great new floor!

Santa

We put up our Christmas lights this week and of course the inflatable Santa. We have this blow up thing in our yard that is Rudolf holding Santa's gift sack and Santa is popping up and down in it. Weird, but the kids love it. Well this was Will's reaction to it when he first saw it through the living room window. The video is dark and you can hear the Grey Cup game in the background, but mostly you can hear Will and his great reaction...and of course Will telling Santa he has a cookie for him.

A little Mommy and Will time

Paul snapped these shots of Will and I last night. I am as tired as I look and so was Will. I was watching a movie and he climbed up on my lap and just laid his head down. Of course, he first had to arrange a pillow for himself. He did that himself, I had nothing to do with it. It was actually pretty funny because he laid down at first and then lifted his head and looked at me and said, "wait mommy" (with his index finger pointed, and went and got the pillow. Funny kid eh.

Also, his new favorite thing is the flashlight or "light" as he calls it. He takes that thing everywhere.

Our Little Kingston

Well, here he is, our little man at 18 weeks. All his size and growth measurements are right on track and he's just perfect. I wonder if he'll have dark curly hair??? We have yet to decide on his middle name, but for now, Kingston it is! I can't wait to meet you sweetheart.

Will Gets a Haircut from Grandma

When we were home for a few days so Paul and Joe could do our floors, Grandma was kind enough to give William a haircut. He did so good, as long as he had the lotion to distract him. Thanks Grandma.

Snug as a bug....

Okay, so on Halloween, the always clever erin Kelly not only passed out candy to the little ones, but she also had a bin of little toys and fun stuff. She gave Will a toy Bee that you wind up. Well, who knew that Bee would fast become his best friend. That Bee hasn't left his side since he got it. And now, the 'bug' as Will calls him, has to go night-night with him when he goes. So the other night, daddy put Will and Bug to bed each with their own blanket. We now have to do this at every nap as well. I say to Will, "night-night Will, love you" and Will says, "night-night Bug, wuv ew". It's just too darn cute.

William's Musical Side

While we were at the Erynn and Joe's for Halloween, Joe put Will on the drums to see what he would do. I think he has my musicality somewhere in there. At least I hope he does.

Halloween 2008

Have you ever seen a cuter turtle? Seriously, I know he's mine, but I thought he was just the sweetest thing last night. From the moment we put his costume on in the morning to the time we took it off....9PM!!!, William had the best day. He LOVED his costume, even the hat. I took him to Westside and then to Daddy's office, and then at 5pm we did our little bank of condos and then after daddy came home from work, we went to the Kelly's (the Big Red Door-happy place) and then off to see Auntie Erynn and Uncle Joe. William was just so proud of himself being all dressed up and carrying his "punkin". The funniest part was when every door i'd take him to, he would walk right in to their house, and while the people were putting candy in his pumpkin, he was using his other hand to take candy out of their bowls. Good thing they found that cute. Anyway, we had a great day, he didn't fuss even once and he came home with quite the stash.

Free at Last, Free at Last!!!

We are so proud of out little man!!! As you know, we decided to cold-turkey wean Will from his sucky starting on Saturday. We had a chat with him and had him throw it in the garbage himself. This is what transpired.

Saturday nap-he SCREAMED for an hour and twenty minutes, slept for 20 minutes then screamed until I got him out of bed. He asked for it a couple times but we just distracted him and reminded him that he threw it away and it is gone and that he's a big boy now. Then when bedtime came he fell right to sleep and slept till 1am. Then he woke up and cried for it for about an hour and then fell asleep again for the rest of the night.

Sunday morning he asked for it a couple times, then at nap time he slept for an hour and then woke up crying for it. By the time bedtime came on Sunday, he really hadn't asked for it and ended up going to bed without asking for it and slept the night.

Monday and Today so far, he hasn't asked for it even once and slept through his naps and the whole night without incident.

That's it, we've done it! I imagine he'll ask for it a little later on, but so far he's done absolutely amazing!

Yeah William!!!

Happy Pumpkin Day!

Check out this pumpkin Paul carved.

Farewell to Paul, Linda, Syd and Josh

These four people are absolutely some of my most favorite people on this planet. Their presence in my life has added so much significance it's difficult to put into words. Paul and Linda are more than just friends to me; they are family and i'm going to miss them more than I even realized. I wish them great peace and happiness in their new adventure. I love you guys.

Take a good look.

Well, only 2 more sleeps and you won't be seeing Will's "sucky" anymore. Yes Paul and I have FINALLY made the commitment to ween Will. I can assure you it's going to be way harder for us, than for Will. Please say a prayer for us on Saturday, I have a feeling we won't be having much of a good sleep this weekend. We have decided to just go cold turkey so hopefully it works. We'll keep ya posted.

Farewell Lunch For Linda and Syd

A few of us girls got together to bid Syd and Linda goodbye before they leave for Panama. I only have one picture because my camera died right after I took it. Anyway, it's sad for us, but so happy for them. I'm going to miss them all so much. Thanks to Laura for a wonderful lunch.
